Arte ekoizpen feministak - Producciones de arte feminista

€20.00

In the context of the Basque Country, contemporary art institutions incorporated within their activities cycles, conferences, research and encounters associated with the production of feminist art. This phenomenon lasted from the end of the 1990s until the late noughties. The two main institutions that gave space to these practices were Arteleku in Gipuzkoa (Regional Council of Gipuzkoa) and Montehermoso in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council). In this work we are not going to ask why these spaces disappeared. We will, however, put some thought into feminist art productions as knowledge processes; as catalysts for different critical theories originating from different feminisms, queer and trans theories; and as points of departure for rethinking public policies and as generators of visualities. So it is essential to see the shape we have taken as subjects of knowledge in specific cultural contexts.

This book presents a compilation of texts by the following artists and cultural managers: Maider Zilbeti, Saioa Olmo, María Mur Dean, Ainhoa Güemes Moreno and Enkarni Gómez Genua, Maria Ptqk, Itziar Okariz, Kontxa Elorza, Bulegoa Z/B (Beatriz Cavia and Leire Vergara), Erreakzioa-Reacción (Azucena Vieites-Estíbaliz Sádaba), María José Belbel.
