In this fourth programme of Culture Pop Trenches, Elisa McCausland and Diego Salgado will talk about the transformations of the public space related to the culture or the theme parks and the amusement parks. Not only we will talk about places, but also about shapes, life styles. We will talk about idyllic imaginaries. Those are, at the same time, as tangible as Disneyland or the Playboy pornotpia. Those examples are important in order to understand how we have turned into constant simulation consumers, or, it will be better to say, how we have done our day-to-day a simulation itself.

In this third chapter of Pop Culture Trenches, Elisa McCausland and Diego Salgado talk about the resurrection of music videos; audio-visual’s trope which has been institutionalised for forty years. It has experienced a lot of ups and downs inside popular culture. Recently, the impact of some music videos like Childish Gambino´s, Beyoncé and her couple´s, or in our country, Rosalía´s videos invite to think about the validity of this format which changed the way to whach TV and teenagers´ habits. Some platforms such as Youtube have reach to become music videos a global phenomenon.

In this second programme of Pop Culture Trenches, Elisa McCausland and Diego Salgado analyse the sense of the mainstream culture nowadays, in light of artistic and media phenomenon. ¿Is it still the culture the nexus between consumption and the necessity of expression? ¿Do we still pretend to be aware of reality´s network? ¿Or it is a mixture between proselytism and auto-fiction based on our aspirations?
